Winslet to star in Woody Allen film

Kate Winslet is to star in Woody Allen’s first British film.

She will appear alongside fellow Brits Emily Mortimer and Jonathan Rhys Meyers.

Details of the as-yet-untitled 15 million dollar production (£8.5m) are shrouded in secrecy but it is believed to be set in London’s high society.

Filmed on location in London, it will be the first time in Allen’s 33-year-career that he has made a movie set entirely outside New York.

“I have a great admiration for English actors and actresses and have used them at every opportunity over the years, but now I won’t have to import them to New York,” Allen told Variety.
