Splendour in unusual comic strip outing

BASED on the comic-book strip of the same name, American Splendor stars Paul Giamatti as Harvey Pekar, a middle-aged loser who spends his days working as a file clerk, collecting jazz records and moaning about everything and anything under the sun.

BASED on the comic-book strip of the same name, American Splendor stars Paul Giamatti as Harvey Pekar, a middle-aged loser who spends his days working as a file clerk, collecting jazz records and moaning about everything and anything under the sun.

Then one day he meets Robert Crumb (James Urbaniak), a talented cartoonist who changes his life. They team up to produce a new comic book that quickly becomes an underground hit.

A celebration of the little guy, American Splendor isn’t the most exciting of films, but it’s interesting nonetheless.

If you’re in the mood for something unusual give it a go.
