Streep and Martin honoured with awards
Meryl Streep and Steve Martin are set to receive achievement awards for their film work.
Streep is set to accept the Life Achievement Award from the American Film Institute on June 10, the group announced in Los Angeles.
Last year’s recipient was her Deer Hunter co-star Robert De Niro.
The 32nd annual ceremony has planned appearances by Jim Carrey, Goldie Hawn, Robert Redford, Kevin Kline and director Mike Nichols.
Meanwhile, Steve Martin has been picked for an achievement honour at this year’s American Cinematheque Awards, planned for November 12.
The actor-comedian was selected for a body of work that includes The Jerk, Dead Men Don’t Wear Plaid, Parenthood and the upcoming Shopgirl.
