The 20-year-old said: "When you become a public figure you're sort of giving yourself to the world and you realize the people who matter are the ones who know you best.

"It brought me closer to my loved ones and made me appreciate them.

"I try not to be suspicious of new people, but it's natural I am a little."

Bosworth is currently filming Sin City with her boyfriend's Lord Of The Rings co-star Elijah Wood.
