Calendar Girls become tourist attraction

The village housewife behind the Calendar Girls charity fundraising - which became a major feature film - is now offering three-night package holidays linked to the locations used in the film of the exploits of the Women’s Institute members.

Calendar Girls Holidays is the idea of Tricia Stewart, who was played in the film by Helen Mirren.

The Sunday to Wednesday breaks give trippers the chance to meet Tricia and other members of the Rylstone and District WI in North Yorkshire, who stripped off for a calendar to raise money for leukaemia research.
