Singles falling for lines in Dublin
Chat-up lines are more successful than we would care to admit, according to a survey carried out by a Dublin taxi company.
The astonishing results show that those who claim to be lucky in love tend to use bold and confident chat-up lines when approaching an object of desire, as opposed to the reserved, shy lines that the self-confessed unsuccessful singles opt for.
The most popular chat-up line among those surveyed was the very simple: âWould you like a drink?â
The successful singles, however, dress up the plain words with cheeky compliments like âsex petalâ, âgorgeousâ, âbeautifulâ or for the men âpecsâ, âstudâ, or even âMr Muscleâ.
Taxi 2000 compiled the âHow easy is it to meet your soul mate in Dublin?â survey in an attempt to solve the burning question.
The majority of singles, 71%, claim it is easy to meet your soul mate.
Needless to say, the most popular destination is the pub and nightclub, but a surprising 10% look to the lonely-hearts columns of the newspapers to find a friend.
The infamous and perfectly valid question âCome here often?â remains a surprisingly popular opening.
According to Taxi 2000, the variations âHave you been here before?â or âIs this your regular?â increase the potential for success!
Itâs no great shock to learn that âStory Lads?â and âWho owns you?â resulted in bitter failure, although the more colorful version âAll right sexy? Story gorgeous?â aroused some unsuspecting damselsâ interest!
