J-Lo denies engagement rumours

Jennifer Lopez has denied she is betrothed to singer Marc Anthony, despite sporting what appears to be a huge engagement ring.

Celebrity watchers were stunned to see Lopez move with apparent ease from former fiance Ben Affleck to Anthony.

But pop star and actress Lopez denied the enormous rock on her finger means she is engaged.

She contacted America’s Entertainment Tonight TV show to deny the rumours, according to the programme’s website.

The ring, made up of a diamond band with a huge, square, clear diamond surrounded by tiny diamonds, was seen again in New York last week as the couple stepped out together.

Lopez split from fiance Affleck in January and their planned wedding was cancelled. Anthony’s four-year marriage to former Miss Universe Dayanara Torres ended the same month when she filed for divorce.

Affleck and J-Lo, together dubbed “Bennifer“, were due to marry last September but the nuptials were called off at the last minute.

They said at the time that media pressure would have ruined their big day.

The ceremony was expected to have been held at a private estate in Montecito, near Santa Barbara, California.
