Perry says Friends changed him

Friends star Matthew Perry said that before he joined the show he had a “juvenile” attitude, wanting to be “the only funny guy”.

“In the past I would kind of almost get upset if somebody else was getting a laugh – you know, and as a result I was on some of the worst television shows in history," Perry said..

“So I remember this time growing up a little bit and just being so happy that everybody was bringing something new to the table.”

And he added the six Friends “stuck together as a group” when bargaining for equal pay.

Asked about their future plans, Lisa Kudrow and Jennifer Aniston said they both had film parts in the pipeline with Kudrow also producing television shows and Aniston taking “some travel time” until the end of July.

Perry is producing a movie with his father, and David Schwimmer, who said he was “just glad” he watched the show with the group, added that he is set to work again with Matt LeBlanc.

To murmurs of “definitely” from his co-star, he said he had done an independent feature, had just finished directing two pilot shows for NBC and would “hopefully” also direct the Joey Show.
