Actress Leslie Ash was today diagnosed with an infection known as MSSA that attacks the nervous system, her publicist said.

The 43-year-old contracted MSSA (Methicillin-Sensitive Staphylococcus Aureus) while in London’s Chelsea and Westminster Hospital last week, according to Neil Reading.

In a statement released on behalf of the Men Behaving Badly star, he said: “Leslie Ash has been diagnosed with having contracted an infection known as MSSA.

“Whilst this is a serious infection it is very treatable and not at all life-threatening.

“The consultant treating Leslie at the Charing Cross Hospital is very pleased with her recovery so far and she continues to make good progress.

“Her husband Lee Chapman and their two sons are delighted with the news and remain with Leslie at her hospital bedside.”
