Kidman tries her hand at diplomacy

Nicole Kidman proved she was more than a pretty face when she impressed members of the United Nations last week by taking time out of her shooting schedule to meet and greet ambassadors and UN staff.

The Oscar-winning actress and director Sydney Pollack – who are filming The Interpreter at the UN General Assembly – were guests of honour at a cocktail party hosted by Australian UN ambassador John Dauth and New York Consul-General Kenneth Allen.
