The youngest member of 70s singing group The Pointer Sisters, June Pointer Whitmore has been arrested in LA and charged with cocaine possession.

The 50-year-old was arrested outside her sister Bonnie’s Hollywood apartment and subsequently charged with one count of cocaine possession, as well as possessing an "illegal smoking device".

Whitmore was released on bail but is facing a maximum three year prison sentence if found guilty.

She has not performed with the group for three years. The two remaining members of the original line-up, Anita Pointer and Ruth Pointer, now perform with Ruth’s daughter Issa.
