Spielberg plans film of Munich Olympics massacre
Hollywood heavyweight Steven Spielberg plans to bring the tragedy of the 1972 Olympics in Munich Germany to the silver screen.
The Schindler’s List director wants to cast Ben Kingsley in the movie, which will tell the story of how 11 Israeli athletes were kidnapped and murdered by Palestinian activists during the sporting event.
The screenplay is by Oscar-winning writer Eric Roth and filming is due to begin in June. Spielberg has already started scouting for suitable locations in Europe.
Spielberg's next cinema release will be The Terminal starring long-time friend and collaborator Tom Hanks.
