Sophie Ellis Bextor gives birth

Singer Sophie Ellis Bextor has given birth to a baby boy eight weeks early, it was announced today.

The 25-year-old underwent a Caesarean section after doctors diagnosed her with the potentially life-threatening condition pre-eclampsia.
