One of the most successful of the growing number of outstanding independent films coming out of the USA, this is a quirky, off-centre story with a knock-out central performance from Dinklage.
He is a dwarf who is left a disused railway station signal-box in New Jersey. Upon moving in he quickly comes across a group of curious people.
It is a tale of taking a delight in being different - everybody here is different - and it comes with a double dose of endearing charm.
Dinklage, a dark and handsome actor, is outstanding as the hero who is forced to accept the wonderful world as it is. He also finds that he cannot hide from what he is; rather he should embrace the differences.
We have here a brilliantly observed film with honest and authentic characters and quality acting. It has, for some reason, a limited release but it deserves to be seen by everyone who values and appreciates originality in their screen gems.
There is a lot to be said for feeling good.
