'Christ' Caviezel takes up golf
Producers of the new golfing film, Bobby Jones: Stroke Of Genius, are hoping that it will be a huge hit because their leading man is Passion Of The Christ star, Jim Caviezel, who is rapidly making his way onto the A list in Hollywood.
There is a huge marketing plan in process to boost the movie’s profile, similar to the one Mel Gibson used with his massive hit about Christ’s final hours.
Churches are talking about the film’s positive, spiritual message of friendship, family and integrity.
Before it opens in the States, the film about golf legend Bobby Jones will be screened at 100 charity fundraisers. The filmmakers are also using a marketing strategy to spread the word.
Moviegoers can go to www.bobbyjonesthemovie.com and sign up as ‘friends’ and ‘ambassadors’ of the film.
“People really want to see films like this,” says Caviezel, a devoted Catholic like Gibson. “We’ve talked to corporate America and told them this film has true values and redemption.”
