Beckham 'affair' woman: I've no reason to lie

The woman at the centre of an alleged affair with David Beckham was tonight adamant there was “no doubt in her mind” over what happened.

Former personal assistant Rebecca Loos, 26, said she had no reason to lie and had nothing to be ashamed of following her claims she bedded the England football captain.

Her comments came on the eve of her first television interview in which she has vowed to tell the truth over her alleged fling.

And it emerged today that the second woman to claim she slept with Beckham was working for an Australian escort agency around the time she says the alleged affair began.

Malaysian-born model Sarah Marbeck was employed by Boardroom Escorts in Sydney, in 2001 – the year she says she met Beckham in Singapore – the company confirmed.

Beckham has dismissed the allegations surrounding his private life as absurd and has instructed lawyers, although there have been no further developments.

Representatives for him and his wife, Victoria, have also denied rumours the former Spice Girl is pregnant with their third child.

Loos, 26, whose initial allegations last week sparked the ongoing furore, will face the TV cameras in an hour-long interview to be aired on Sky One at 10pm tomorrow.

She was interviewed by Sky News anchor Kay Burley for Rebecca Loos: My Story, in which she says her mother instantly knew of the alleged affair the day after she claims she slept with Beckham.

In excerpts shown on Sky News today, Loos said she left “breathless” adding: “I got home and my mother said ‘Where have you slept? Where have you spent the night?’

“She could tell by the look on my face. She knew. I didn’t have to tell her. She knew.

“She said ‘I hope you’re being careful. I hope you know what you are doing. I’ll support you, if that’s what you want. I’m your mother if that’s what makes you happy then, you know, but be very careful. You are putting your job on the line. There’s a family involved. People can get hurt, children etcetera.’”

An exclusive TV interview with Loos was thought to be worth up to £500,000 (€749,400), with a host of broadcasters chasing the rights.

Earlier in the interview, she says she is not trying to portray a “fairytale”, adding: “People are calling me a liar and calling me names and, you know, at the end of the day these are the facts.

“This is what happened. This is the truth. I should not be ashamed of this.”

She goes on: “I am 100% sure of what I am talking about. There is no doubt in my mind. I have no reason to lie. Why should I?”

Beckham was today heading for the high-profile Spanish resort of La Manga for a training break with his Real Madrid team-mates as he hoped to concentrate on football matters.

La Manga recently hit the headlines after three Leicester City players were accused of committing serious sexual assault at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, where the club was on a training break.

Marbeck became the second woman to claim she had an affair with the millionaire midfielder in a newspaper interview at the weekend.

In a statement released yesterday, she said she decided to reveal the alleged relationship because she spent two years waiting for the star.

But lurid details of her past have emerged in newspapers here and in Australia, where the 29-year-old lives.

Her lawyer, Michael Brereton said she was not in it for the money and told Australian radio: “She’s obviously emotional and I think her emotions are clear…it’s quite clear it wasn’t a malicious or angry reaction.”

The Melbourne Herald Sun reported that Singapore modelling agency DIVA said it had dumped Marbeck from its books because of a lack of interest in her.
