Debra Messing, co-star of the sitcom Will and Grace, has given birth to a son.

The baby, born on Wednesday, weighed 5lb and 14oz and was 19in long, publicist Annett Wolf said in Los Angeles last night. It is the first child for Messing and her husband, screenwriter Daniel Zelman.
