Pink to play idol Joplin

Alecia Moore - better known as pint-sized popstress Pink – is set to play Janis Joplin in a new bio-pic about the legendary blues rock diva. She apparently impressed director Penelope Spheeris with a screen test in which she mimicked Joplin’s gravelly vocal style.

Moore, whose only previous screen appearance was a fleeting cameo in Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle, is known to be huge fan of Joplin, and has even written a song from her point of view – Unwind, on the album Try This.
