Scooby-Doo - with the emphasis on the Doo part - is an ugly and not very well drawn Great Dane, a member of a gang of ghastly and displeasing teenage detectives.

He comes from that third-rate school of TV animation which knocked the artform back several decades; one-dimensional characters who jerked across our screens without, for even a fleeting second, entertaining us.

Surprisingly, the first feature Scooby-Doo was a Box Office hit; go figure!

This one is bereft of everything we attend the cinema to see - even the plotline is so unimportant the details escape me: something to do with the gang meeting a bunch of villains; like who cares? - and the ‘2’ in the title can only fill us with dread since it promises a ‘3’, ‘4’ and ‘5’.

Isn’t the world a sad enough place!
