Shatner plans to keep on acting

Star Trek legend William Shatner has said he doesn’t get away with anything when it comes to driving offences or parking tickets.

“They love to stop and say hi to Captain Kirk but sadly I never get special treatment,” he laughs.

“I had to sit through eight hours of traffic school the other day because of too many tickets and careless driving and they made me stay for the whole thing and do exactly the same as the 35 others in the class.

"It was very boring and a complete waste of time. But everyone made Star Trek jokes all day and I joined in which made it a little more bearable.”

The 73-year-old star said he has no plans to retire from acting.

He’s a guest star on the hit US show The Practice, playing a lawyer, and is about to star with Sandra Bullock in a sequel to Miss Congeniality.
