Robinson plans facelift to country home
Anne Robinson, The Weakest Link’s Queen of Mean, has drawn up plans to give her palatial country home a major facelift, it was revealed today.
The news comes days after the 59-year-old sparked rumours she had undergone plastic surgery by appearing on UK Channel 5’s Terry And Gabby show with youthful new looks.
The celebrity insisted her wrinkle-free look, with fuller lips and rounder eyes, was down to nothing more drastic than the intervention of a new make-up artist.
Robinson has applied for planning permission to give her luxury home in the Gloucestershire Cotswolds a makeover.
She and husband John Penrose are planning to extend the garage and add a conservatory and a TV and games room to their house in the hamlet of Ablington.
The couple have already added a swimming pool and numerous other extensions.
Neighbours are considering the plans, which are on show at Cotswold District Council planning office in Cirencester.
Planning officer Kevin Field said: “There is a proposed conservatory link between the new room and the house at ground level.
“At the opposite side there is a proposal to raise the ridge of the garage to provide space for two bedrooms in the roof space above.”
He said the plans were received by the council on February 27 and could be given the go-ahead as early as Thursday.
The quiz show host also has homes in London and the United States.
