The Passion of the Python

Monty Python’s Life of Brian is being re-released late next month as an antidote to Mel Gibson’s The Passion Of The Christ.

The 1979 satire opens in the States on Good Friday. Rainbow Films is reissuing the film using marketing ploys to play off Gibson’s movie with taglines and catch phrases like: ’Mel or Monty’ and ’ The Passion Of the Python.’

The five surviving Monty Python members all agreed that this was a good time to re-release the film and say they’ll help to promote it. "I hope it will serve as an alternative to all the hysteria about Mel’s movie,” says the company’s president, film maker Henry Jaglom.
