Box office success for Scooby-Doo
The family film “Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed” is a big hit in the States, despite bad reviews.
It has taken $30.7m (€25.3m) at the US box office. The sequel has not done as well as the original.
“The Ladykillers“, Tom Hanks’ new film directed by the Coen brothers, is in second place with $13m (€10.7m), while “The Passion of the Christ” is now at number three, making $12.5m (€10.3m) in its fifth week.
Last week’s “Dawn of the Dead” dropped to number four, grossing about $10.3m (€8.5m) and Ben Affleck, Jennifer Lopez and Liv Tyler’s “Jersey Girl” debuted at number five, grossing $8.3m (€6.9m).
