Kylie wanted Lord of the Rings role

Elijah Wood has revealed that Kylie Minogue wanted to play the part of elf queen Galadriel in Lord of The Rings.

Unfortunately for the pint-sized singer, who played a pixie in Moulin Rouge, elves are traditionally tall and slim.

The role eventually went to Cate Blanchett, who is about 20cm taller than Kylie.

Furthermore, Elijah reckons that director Peter Jackson still has her audition on tape.
