Offers flood in for Charlize

Charlize Theron is getting inundated with film offers after the Oscar win for Monster. Her career looks set for the next few years.

She’ll be starring in Class Action, a drama from Whale Rider director, Niki Caro. Like her character in Monster, Theron will be playing a woman who has been abused all her life by men until she decides she’s had enough and takes radical action to change.

The story is about the first successful sexual harassment lawsuit in the States.

Based on a true story, Theron plays Josie Aimes who fled from her violent husband in the ’70s and returned to her home town in Minnesota, where she became one of the first women to get a job in the iron mine which employed the local men.

She and her friends are harassed and abused but their bosses turn a blind eye and the women are terrified about losing their jobs.

Aimes mobilised them by initiating legal action.

Before beginning that film, the actress will start work on Aeon Flux, a futuristic drama. She’ll play a superhuman assassin.
