Former Blair publicist gets his own show

Tony Blair’s former chief spin doctor Alastair Campbell has signed a deal with the British TV channel Five to present his own interview series.

The former Downing Street director of communications will present a series of interview and profile programmes with major figures from the worlds of politics, business and sport for a series to be screened later this year.

Mr Campbell, who quit Downing Street last year to spend more time with his family, has also agreed to be the subject of a documentary on which filming has already begun.

The hour-long programme will focus on how he is adapting to a new life after nine years with Mr Blair, and in particular his training for the London Triathlon in August.
