Hawke still upset over marriage break-up

Ethan Hawke says he’s still deeply upset about the end of his marriage to Uma Thurman. During an American TV interview for the show 20/20 he says he blames the failed relationship on both his and Uma’s movie ambitions.

Thurman decided to leave because her husband was seeing someone else. That turned out to be a brief affair and it looks like Hawke is still grieving.

“It’s tough, very tough,” he says, adding that he misses the ‘dream’ of marriage and is desperately trying to be mature enough to cope with the split, for the sake of the couple’s two children.

“You gotta think about the kids. I love my kids so much that it breaks my heart to have anything negative said about Uma or me, I’d rather it be said about me frankly.”
