Police have arrested two people for making purchases with money and account numbers found in the lost wallet of Hollywood star Tony Curtis.
Curtis’ assistant first reported the wallet missing in August, a month after the 78-year-old Some Like It Hot actor passed through Barstow, about 115 miles north east of Los Angeles.
It contained cash, credit cards and personal cheques.
Sgt Rudy Alcantara of the Barstow Police Department said two women were arrested after detectives found they had made transactions on Curtis’ accounts.
Cynthia Devine and Katherine Runge were arrested for forgery and unauthorised possession of account numbers, Alcantara said.
They were also arrested for possession of methamphetamine, as were several others who were in their homes at the time of the arrests.
Alcantara did not say how much of Curtis’ money was spent. He said the investigation was continuing.
