Outkast member to portray Hendrix in film

Outkast's Andre 3000 is in final talks to play Jimi Hendrix in an upcoming film.

Directed by the Hughes brothers, it will follow the legendary guitarists's rise to fame until his death in 1970.

Andre will also star in Elmore Leonard's 'Be Cool', the sequel to 'Get Shorty', with John Travolta and Danny DeVito.

Furthermore, OutKast will also appear in their own film 'Speakerboxxx', (a musical set in an undertakers) and the soundtrack to the film will be the band's next album.
