House of Sand and Fog is an outstanding film

Based on the novel by Andre Dumas lll this is an outstanding film filled with high drama and played brilliantly by its wonderful cast, particularly Kingsley and Connelly.

Based on the novel by Andre Dumas lll this is an outstanding film filled with high drama and played brilliantly by its wonderful cast, particularly Kingsley and Connelly.

Connelly plays an abandoned wife and recovering addict whose life is a mess. She lives in her late father's home in San Fransisco, though her decline means she eventually loses it.

New owner is Kingsley, a former Iranian colonel with a pride and determination to restore his life and take care of his family; though when Kathy (Connelly) turns to a policeman (Eldard) for help in getting the house back and her life back in order tragedy follows.

This is an emotionally powerful debut from Perelman and quite one of the best films in recent months. Don't miss.
