Holden released from hospital after infection
Actress Amanda Holden left hospital today after treatment for a kidney infection.
The Cutting It star was admitted on Saturday suffering from crippling pains.
Doctors discharged her earlier today and she is now recuperating at home with boyfriend Chris Hughes.
She is not expected to return to her starring role in the West End musical Thoroughly Modern Millie until next week at the earliest.
The 33-year-old is still taking medication for the infection, which she contracted on a romantic break with Hughes in Barcelona.
Doctors believe her punishing stage role may have contributed to the condition.
A spokeswoman for the star said: “Amanda is feeling a little better and just wants to get back on stage when the doctors say she is well enough.”
Understudy Donna Steele will play the role of Millie Dillmount at the Shaftesbury Theatre until Holden, who also stars in the BBC1 comedy Mad About Alice, returns.
