Flowers to bloom at Meteor Awards

The Hothouse Flowers, one of Ireland’s finest and hardest working bands, have confirmed that they will perform at the star-studded Meteor Ireland Music Awards in The Point on Monday, March 1.

The band will open the show with their new single “Your Love Goes On” accompanied by The Dublin Gospel Choir.

A host of stars from stage, screen and sport will present awards including Keith Duffy, Niall Quinn, Deirdre O'Kane, Denis Hickey, Joe Elliot and Hector Ó hEochagáin.

Kerry McFadden and Miss World Rosanna Davidson have also confirmed that they will attend the music extravaganza.

The prestigious Meteor awards ceremony, which is now in its fourth year, will be hosted by comedian Dara O’Briain.

Lionel Richie will perform alongside Counting Crows, The Corrs, Sugababes, Westlife, The Frames, Paddy Casey, The Dubliners and Jerry Fish & The Mudbug Club.

In all 18 Meteor Ireland Music Awards will be presented this year. The public can vote for short listed nominees in eight categories by SMS text, telephone and www.meteor.ie including Best Irish DJ, Best Irish Pop Act, Best Irish Band, Best Irish Album, Best International Male, Best International Female, Best International Group and Best Live Performance.

The short-list was compiled from the votes cast by a host of Irish music industry representatives, broadcasters and music journalists.
