Cher is the latest celebrity to want a country home in England.
The star finishes her Farewell Tour this year and fancies becoming lady of the manor.
She once lived in a trendy warehouse apartment by the Thames in Wapping, but at 57 has decided for a life of gentle country pursuits.
“I feel at home in England and I would love to have a home there again,” she said.
“I used to live by the river in London a few years ago and it was great, but now I want to live in the country. I would like some land and some privacy.
“My friend lives out in the English countryside and I love it so much, I think it would be really wonderful to have a place there too.”
Becoming lady of the manor is all the rage with celebrities these days.
Madonna has a country estate in Wiltshire, LizHurley has moved to a village in the Cotswolds and supermodel Claudia Schiffer has bought a country pile in Suffolk.
But Cher said she had no intention of swapping her outrageous outfits for tweeds or taking up shooting, like Madonna.
“I really don’t think that’s me,” she said.
