And then there were three in Celebrity challenge
Kerry McFadden, Peter Andre and Jennie Bond were hoping to be crowned King or Queen of the Jungle today as ITV’s I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here came to a climax.
Former Atomic Kitten star McFadden was favourite going into the final of the reality show which has gripped millions of viewers for the past two weeks.
The winner could garner a host of lucrative media deals in the wake of the increased exposure created by the show.
Last night, Lord Brocket became the latest celebrity to be evicted from the show.
Brocket told presenters Ant and Dec: “I never wanted to win it. I thought I was on borrowed time.”
Asked about his tiff with Bond, Brocket replied: “We (him and other stars) had a conflab on Pete’s bed and all of us thought she was slightly driving us mad.
“Things would run smoother (without Bond)…We all sort of agreed she was the odd one out.”
Earlier, lovelorn Andre furiously accused evicted star Jordan of being “full of shit” after realising the busty model never wanted him.
Jordan had already told her fellow stars that she thought Andre’s flirtatious behaviour was purely to boost his popularity with the public.
But in the traditions of Shakespearean romantic tragedy, it appears Andre was actually smitten all along.
For her part, Jordan has now claimed that she has “unfinished business” with the singer and said she planned to talk with him when the show finished.
Andre told fellow campers after she’d left: “I love the person that I met here when she didn’t turn into that other person. She was her sweet self – I love that.
“I was actually really, really feeling something you know. I guess this is life man…. I think last night was enough for me after we spoke and I realised that maybe this was all just bullshit.”.
Andre went on: “Everything I said to her I meant but she won’t believe that. She doesn’t want to believe it. That’s the bit that hurts me that I meant it.”
In his earlier final row with Jordan, Andre told her: “Let me tell you something, right, that was enough for me. Now there’s nothing. I’m not interested…it took that for me to realise you’ve been playing a game.”
But Jordan accused Andre of suggesting that they go to the pool in a bid to “win the game”.
Jordan’s boyfriend Scott Sullivan has flown out to Australia and threatened to punch Andre’s “lights out”.
Kerry was 3/1 on with Ladbrokes. Andre was second favourite at 3/1, with Bond at 6/1.
At one point, two days into the show, Kerry’s wimpy behaviour saw her odds lengthen to 16/1.
Ladbrokes have closed the book on Andre’s single ’Mysterious Girl’ being re-released and getting to Number One.
The odds of Insania getting to Number One have shortened to 10/1 from an opening price of 50/1.
The final show is on TV3 tonight.
