Beyonce linked to Louis Lane role

Beyonce Knowles is being lined up to appear as Lois Lane in the new Superman movie.

The Destiny's Child singer, who performed at last night's Superbowl, is favourite to take the role of the superhero's girlfriend.

Others lined up include Johnny Depp who is going to be the baddie, Lex Luthor.

Depp impressed studio bosses with his performance in Pirates of the Caribbean.

He takes over the role of the mad scientist from Gene Hackman who starred in the classic films from the 1970s and 1980s.

The title role in Superman: The Last Son of Krypton will be taken by British actor Henry Cavill.

Beyonce won rave reviews in her cinema debut as Foxxy Cleopatra in the Austin Powers film Goldmember.
