Griffith wishes mom would get another hobby

Actress Melanie Griffith is not happy that her mother, Birds star Tippi Hedren, lives in a cottage where on the surrounding grounds live 60 exotic large cats such as leopards, lions and tigers.

Griffith fears her mother will be the victim of a tiger attack like illusionist Roy Horn.

Hedren who founded the Shambala Animal Preserve in Acton, California has already been mauled once by a lioness.

A source says: "Melanie was distraught when she heard about Roy. She immediately phoned her mom, who assured her that she is vigilant about security. Melanie still worries, of course."

Hedren was injured while filming the 1981 film Roar while Griffith herself was grazed.

Horn is still recovering after being attacked by one of his own tigers in October during his Las Vegas stage show with partner Siegfried Fischbacher.
