Former Pumpkin working on new album

Former Smashing Pumpkins guitarist Billy Corgan says his first solo album will be "loud and beautiful and poetic and dumb."

The frontman, who last September split with Zwan - the band he created after Smashing Pumpkins disbanded - has revealed that he has started work on the album.

He says he's excited to work on this music, because for the first time in his life it will be his tunes "with no compromises to anyone or anything" and that he loves the challenge.
