A statue to honour world-renowned Irish tenor Josef Locke is being planned for his native Derry.

If all goes well, it will be unveiled in October to coincide with the fifth anniversary of his death.

Backing the campaign is Enniskillen-born actor Adrian Dunbar, who starred alongside Coleraine's Jimmy Nesbitt in the charming story Hear My Song, about a Liverpudlian bar-owner determined to sign Locke up for a concert.
