Film industry tax breaks 'will pay off’

The Screen Producers of Ireland (SPI) organisation has claimed that the Government’s decision to extend tax breaks for the film industry will pay off in the coming years.

The organisation was speaking after Jim Sheridan’s In America secured three nominations for this year’s Academy Awards yesterday.

SPI said almost 90% of the production of the took place in Dublin because of the generous tax breaks offered by the State.
