Lydon faces ostrich challenge

Sex Pistol lead singer John Lydon is to face the ‘biggest, strongest and hungriest’ birds in the world today to win food for his fellow contestants in reality TV show ‘I’m a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!’

The punk frontman was nominated by the first public vote of the series to face 6ft tall, 300lbs ostriches to win meals for the 10 celebrities in the Australian jungle.

But Lydon, known in his Sex Pistol days as Johnny Rotten, greeted news of the challenge with good humour, saying ‘I’m dying to do something’.

The gruelling fly-on-the-wall show began last night with busty glamour model Jordan and Neil “Razor” Ruddock surviving the first trial of the jungle – by allowing snakes, spiders and cockroaches to crawl over their faces.

The camp chose former footballer Neil to take part in the I’m A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! challenge, and the 35-year-old selected Jordan to join him because ‘she’s got a bit of bottle’ after they arrived in their camp by helicopter.

Stick insects, cockroaches, a snake, beetles and huntsman spiders were poured into Jordan’s see-through helmet, while Razor got meal worms, giant cockroaches, crickets, an eel and tent spiders.

But 25-year-old Jordan, who appears to have publicly dumped her boyfriend on television, and the hardman footballer, succeeded in facing their challenge, winning meals for all ten celebrities.

The pair rewarded themselves with a relaxing dip in the water – but Razor got more than an eyeful when the model stripped down to her underwear on the ITV1 show.

Jordan’s boyfriend of 18 months, Scott, has annoyed the fiery model by failing to call or text her to wish her luck in the jungle.

She told the other campers: “I’m not happy with my boyfriend. He’s not my boyfriend as far as I’m concerned at the minute.

“He hasn’t wished me luck, hasn’t texted me for 2/3 days. Nothing.”

Meanwhile, viewers saw former Atomic Kitten star Kerry McFadden tell Jordan that “sex mad” singer Peter Andre, 30, was in love with the glamour model.

Kerry, 23, believes she is not going to last more than two days in the camp, because she won’t be able to face a Bushtucker trial.

She said: “I’m going to last two days. I’m giving myself two days. Once I do the first challenge I think I’m gone. I think I’ll just end up going.”
