Beckham's ex-bodyguards 'touting private life secrets'

Eleven of David Beckham's former security guards are reported to be attempting to sell secrets about his private life for £500,000 (€724,000).

The Cuban minders spent three months working round the clock for the Real Madrid midfielder before being sacked.

It is reported that Victoria Beckham was becoming suspicious at their role in her husband's life as they accompanied him to private parties and nightclubs in Madrid.

"The bodyguards claim to have a lot to tell the world about David," alleged a source close to Delfin Fernandez, the 44-year-old Cuban in charge of the security men.

"They know all his female friends and what he spends his money on. They have been very loyal to David, arranging anything that he wants, and deserve a lot better." He claims they are owed a lot of money in "unpaid wages".

Fernandez, a former spy who once smuggled a Rottweiler puppy out of Spain for Fidel Castro, claims to have kept a day-to-day record of all Beckham's activities. He says he has security profiles, including photographs and voice recordings, of all those who have become friendly with the player.

The bodyguards were sacked after an argument about tip-offs to paparazzi. They have been replaced by an English security firm run by a friend of Victoria's father.

A spokesman for Beckham said the bodyguards worked for Real Madrid, not him personally, and said they had signed a confidentiality clause. He stated David Beckham sacked the bodyguards.

Beckham, 28, who is paid £5 million a year and has advertising contracts worth £15 million, has signed up with Qudos, an exclusive events agency, who have arranged trips to restaurants and cinemas.

His social circle now includes Ronaldo, who is in the middle of divorce proceedings from his footballing wife Milene Dominguez, 24. The Brazilian striker regularly joins Beckham at the nightclub Sabay. There are no suggestions that Beckham has been cheating on his wife, reports the London Evening Standard.
