Hit British sitcom The Office beat off tough competition to become the surprise winner of two Golden Globe awards at a glittering Hollywood ceremony today.

The spoof documentary about a Slough paper mill triumphed over big hitters such as Sex and the City and Will and Grace to win best comedy TV series.
