Macdonald to leave Givenchy

British designer Julien Macdonald is leaving the classic Paris fashion house Givenchy, where his maverick image was never a comfortable fit.

Macdonald, at his best showing fancy knits and short, sexy dresses, seemed to have a tough time finding his niche at the Paris fashion house known for its tradition of ladylike elegance.
