Berry makes Catwoman her own
There is great anticipation about Halle Berry’s next big film, Catwoman, out later this year.
The actress says her character will be entirely different from the one played by Michelle Pfeiffer in the 1992 film, Batman Returns.
“I’m my own incarnation, not to be compared with the others,” says Berry, admitting she did have some concerns about taking the role. “I was nervous about living up to the women who have played her before. That’s what I struggled with – if I couldn’t bring anything different, then why do it?”
The $100m movie, also starring Sharon Stone and Benjamin Bratt, tells the story of a shy graphic designer who has a row with her boss and suddenly discvovers she has superhuman feline powers – Berry’s Catwoman can claw and pounce but she also practices sophisticated Brazilian martial arts.
