Pixies to reunite for US festival

Pixies are to reunite for the Coachella festival in the US where they will top the bill with Radiohead and Kraftwerk.

It's the first confirmation of the much anticipated Pixies reunion and it will be their first gig since splitting up 11 years ago. It's not yet clear if all four original members, Frank Black, Joey Santiago, Kim Deal and David Lovering, will play…or if the show will be a one-off performance.

All three bands will headline the first day of the festival on May 1 in Indio, California.

Last year's festival was headlined by the Beastie Boys and Red Hot Chili Peppers and included performances by the White Stripes and a reformed Iggy Pop and the Stooges.
