Novelist gifts US police with Hummer
Police in Hollywood, Florida are happy with their latest gift of an $118,000 (€92,000) Hummer given to their crime-scene investigations department by Miami native Patricia Cornwell.
Cornwell is the best-selling novelist whose main character is medical examiner Dr Kay Scarpetta. Cornwell often does research ride-alongs with local police and just wanted to show her appreciation.
