Grammy-nominated New Zealand singer Daniel Bedingfield is recovering after suffering neck injuries in a car accident a week ago.

In his first statement since the accident, posted on a fan website, Bedingfield said: “I don’t remember much about what happened but I’ve seen pictures of the car and feel blessed to have got out of there at all.”

Bedingfield, whose debut album sold more than three million copies, added: “Right now I feel OK and very grateful to be alive.”
