EastEnders star says soaps too violent

EastEnders star Shaun Williamson says the soap has become too violent for young viewers.

Williamson, who plays Barry Evans, said it was “frightening” to think parents allowed young children to watch the programme.

His concerns echo complaints by viewers and TV watchdogs about rising levels of violence in soaps.
