David Brent of the cult comedy show The Office is back on our screens for the final time tonight to do what he does best – make a complete berk of himself.

The self-styled poet, philosopher, humanitarian and dancer, played by the show’s co-writer Ricky Gervais, is now a travelling sales rep for a cleaning products company after being made redundant from his managerial post at Slough-based Wernham Hogg paper merchants.

Last night Brent was seen cashing in on the “stardom” that followed The Office “documentaries” by dressing up as Austin Powers for a nightclub performance of Blind Date also featuring Howard Brown, of the Halifax adverts fame, and Bubble, a former Big Brother contestant.
