Lynne to leave the Square

Elaine Lordan, who plays Lynne Slater in EastEnders, is to leave the soap next summer.

Elaine has played troubled Lynne for nearly four years and says she is leaving the show by mutual consent after discussions with the executive producer.

The announcement of her departure comes just two months after she was convicted of drink driving.
